MICROBLADING

Microblading is the ideal procedure for anyone who is unhappy with the shape or density of their brows. Brows can thin over time from over plucking or age. Microblading is an advanced manual brow technique that uses a superfine row of needles to deposit cosmetic pigments into the upper dermis of the skin to create thin, hair-like strokes. Microblading is meant to be a subtle, natural enhancement to create the illusion of fuller brows. It is the perfect solution for those who want to fully reconstruct, define, cover gaps, or fill-in over plucked brows.

FAQ

Who should consider microblading?   +

While there are thousands of eyebrow products on the market, those that tend to opt for microblading want fuller, natural-looking eyebrows but don't want the hassle of filling them in every single morning, or the worry that the pigment won't last all day. If you benefit from a brow pencil, then you will benefit from microblading.

How is microblading eyebrows different to having your brows tattooed?   +

Microblading, unlike tattooing, is not in the deep layer of skin, but more on the surface. This is also not permanent, and the colour fades within 24 months depending on your skin tone and type. The hair strokes are far more natural and finer than any tattoo, as a handheld needle/blade is used – there is no electrical gadget that permeates deep in this technique. There is therefore more of a scratching noise, rather than a buzz of a tattoo gun which pierces the skin so deeply. With microblading, unlike a tattoo, once the color starts to fade it won't change color. Eyebrow tattoos tend to fade to red, green or even blue.

Why is there a touch up session and when does this happen?   +

The touch up session happens 5 weeks after the initial session (no later than 3 months after). This is the time where we can assess the first steps, and add in any further strokes and add a darker pigment if preferred. A touch up is not always required, it depends on how you heal.

Does microblading hurt?   +

It doesn’t hurt as such, it is more a sensation. The process itself is not painful thanks to the numbing ointment that is applied. It's sometimes the sound of the blade which people find worse – a small scratching sound. The whole process is very quick – it's actually the numbing which takes most of the time (50mins), you aren’t under the needle for the whole 2 hours.

Can microbladed eyebrows be undone/removed?   +

Yes – the pigment used leaves no scarring or discolouration.

Why is it special: Microblading is a semi-permanent form of tattooing. It is performed manually with a very fine set of needles. Pigment is implanted just under the epidermis layer of the skin. The result is incredibly realistic looking hair-strokes. The strokes are fine and crisp with extraordinary definition and dimension.
